The Awakening (2011)Synopsis:
On the surface, Mary and Frank are having difficulty with their relationship. Mary's mad at Frank because she had a dream that he and his ex-girlfriend bought a parking lot together. Frank's mad at Mary for drinking too much the night before after giving a less-than-stellar reading of her novel. Throughout this darkly humorous drama, the viewer learns of their life together and the extent to which literature is present and vital. The film subtly questions whether there is a difference between the conscious and the unconscious, and contemplates what it takes to create fiction.
