Sugar (2008)Synopsis:
Sugar is a brief glimpse into the lives of several residents of an apartment complex. Their paths continually cross but never touch. We move from apartment to apartment, following the evening routines of the residents as they interact while one character slowly loses his grip on life. We wait expectantly for someone to intercede, a neighbor, a friend, anyone of the many people just yards away. It attempts to lead its audience to ask questions about American society. The viewer is made to question the events that unfold on screen and seek to understand the link or absence of links between characters. It's not a critique of culture, but a window in, hinting at answers, but leaving room for you to find your own.
